Innovation Marketplace Guidance
Key Considerations for Applicants:
- In-person participation is required (no virtual presentations).
- This session will be open to all IMNHC attendees.
- Presenters must purchase their own ticket to the conference.
- Presenters will be responsible for the content, design, and materials required for their display. Note: the format is not presentation style but will require the innovator to hold informal conversations about their innovation with free-flowing participants. Interactivity and exchange of ideas in these conversations is strongly encouraged and plans for interactivity will be assessed in the application.
- If your innovation includes protected intellectual property (IP), please ensure all relevant IP holders and innovation partners have approved your participation.
Evaluation Criteria
- Valuable Contribution: Does the innovation offer a new and promising solution to a critical barrier or bottleneck in MNH? Will showcasing it bring meaningful value to the MNH community and help accelerate progress?
- User-Centered Design: How well does the innovation cater (or have the potential to cater) to the needs of end-users, such as mothers, healthcare providers, or community health workers? Is the design intuitive, accessible, and tailored to the specific contexts and challenges faced by its target audience?
- Inclusivity and Equity: Does the innovation address (or have potential to address) health disparities and work to ensure equitable access, especially for marginalized or underserved populations? Is it designed with cultural sensitivity and an understanding of the local contexts where it will be deployed?
- Potential for Scale: Can the innovation be adapted or scaled across regions or systems?
- Evidence Base: Is there compelling and credible evidence supporting the innovation?
- Interactivity: Does the proposed session actively engage attendees through demo, dialogue, or activity?
- Alignment with Theme: Does the innovation help answer the central question: “What propels a global health innovation from concept to change?”
- Relevance of Key Question: Are you seeking useful input from attendees? How will this help advance your innovation?
