Late-Breaker Abstract Sessions Overview

A limited number of late-breaking abstracts and panels will be accepted for inclusion at IMNHC 2026. The submission window for late breakers will be open from 14 November to 5 December.

Late-breaking submissions are reserved for abstracts presenting new findings that were not available before the regular submission deadline of 6 August 2025. These submissions should highlight data of exceptional significance and demonstrate a clear and meaningful contribution to maternal and newborn health. Authors must provide a strong justification for why their work qualifies as a late breaker at the time of submission.

All standard submission guidelines apply to late-breaking abstracts. However, each presenting author may only present ONE late-breaking abstract during the conference. Given the nature of this category, the review and selection process will be considerably more competitive than regular submissions. Submissions will undergo a peer review process by an international content review committee with a wide range of expertise. The highest-scoring late breaker abstracts and preformed panels will be chosen for oral presentation in a conference session. Submission dispositions will be sent in December 2025.

Selected late breaker abstract presenters receive access to one full-conference ticket (must be purchased separately) and selected late breaker panels will receive one full-conference ticket for each panel member (must be purchased separately), granting access to all IMNHC 2026 sessions and events.
